Quality management
A quality management system is the result of a well-thought firm structure, documented procedures and all processes and resources (time, staff, machinery, facilities and other instruments) required in order to plan, coordinate and monitor all company activities. It aims at:
- Constantly providing products that meet customers’ requirements and comply with current rules and regulations (i.e. preventing rather than correcting nonconformance);
- Proving to our current and potential future customers and to the certification body our ability to fulfil all goals we set and has listed just above;
- Enhancing customers’ satisfaction.
Running a company in accordance with quality system criteria leads to a quality management more and more based upon effectiveness and efficiency, which focuses upon defect prevention, waste curbing, reduction of nonconformance, and limitation of potential costs arisen from misquality in the supply chain. Deeply committed to this, Saleri SIL has been operating since 1992 in compliance with worldwide established quality management standards. |
Quality system registration
Nowadays, ISO/TS 16949:2002 is the worldwide recognized automotive standard for companies manufacturing parts and components for the automotive industry.
Quality Management requirements for design, development and manufacturing of products for the automotive sector – and for installation and product service whenever necessary – are set in the ISO TS 16949:2002 technical specification “Quality management systems - Particular requirements for the application of ISO 9001:2000 for automotive production and relevant service part organizations”.
ISO/TS 16949:2002 can be applied to company sites worldwide, where OEM, OES and non-original spare parts are manufactured in compliance with market and customers’ specifications.
Third party assessed compliance to ISO/TS 16949:2002 is based on objective evidence that a company operates in compliance with all applicable requirements, included customers specific ones. Certificates of conformance are issued during the annual inspection by independent bodies accredited for the task.
Since 2004 Saleri SIL quality management has been ISO/TS 16949 certified by ICIM.
Certification Body
The Institute for Industrial Certification of Mechanics (ICIM) has been operating in Italy and worldwide for 16 years now. It is a third party certification body issuing company management system certifications.
ICIM is a member of the CISQ Automotive federation, to which belong all Italian certification bodies accredited by the International Automotive Task Force (IATF), a group of the world’s leading automotive manufacturers - such as BMW, DaimlerChrysler, Fiat, Ford, General Motors, PSA Peugeot Citroen, Renault, Volkswagen - and national associations of automotive parts manufacturers – i.e. IAOB (USA), ANFIA (Italy), FIEV/CCFA (France), SMMT (Great Britain), VDA/QMC (Germany).
